Security beefed up around US embassy in Dhaka

Law enforcement agency members have beefed up security at the US embassy and surrounding areas in Dhaka on Monday night.

Gulshan Police Station OC Hafizur Rahman said: "Security at the US embassy has been beefed up." However, he did not comment on why or for what reason security was suddenly beefed up.

Locals said that several police vehicles were seen in front of the US embassy and surrounding areas on Monday midnight. Among those was SWAT vehicles.
