Security beefed up at Indian Embassy in Dhaka

The government has beefed up the security of the Indian Embassy in Dhaka following the protests and attacks inside the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission at Agartala in India.

Mohammad Nur-e-Alam, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Diplomatic Security Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed this on Monday (December 2) evening.

In this regard, DC Mohammad Nur-e-Alam told the media, “The security of the Indian Embassy in Dhaka has been beefed up. Additional police have been deployed in front of the embassy from the Diplomatic Security Division of the DMP. In addition, the Gulshan Division and Traffic Division are also working to ensure security.”

He said, “We are not afraid of anything. However, after the Agartala incident, the security of the Indian Embassy in Dhaka has been strengthened naturally.”

Mentionable, activists of an organization called 'Hindu Sangharsh Samiti' vandalized the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission office in Agartala on Monday (December 2) in protest against the ‘persecution of minorities in Bangladesh’ and the arrest of Chinmoy Das. At that time, they set fire in front of the office and staged demonstrations. On receiving the news, the Indian police rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control.
