Security beefed up at Kakrail Mosque area

Police and RAB have beefed up security in the Kakrail Mosque and Dhaka Medical College Hospital areas following clashes between two parties over the control of the Tongi Ijtema grounds.

On Wednesday (December 18), Ramna Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Golam Faruk said that sufficient police personnel have been deployed in and around Kakrail Mosque.

The police are ready to deal with any untoward situation.

RAB-3 Assistant Director Mohammad Faizul Islam said that RAB-3 security has been beefed up in the Kakrail Mosque and Dhaka Medical College Hospital areas following clashes between two parties over the control of the Tongi Ijtema Maidan.

Earlier, 4 platoons of BGB were deployed in Tongi following clashes between Tabligh Jamaat's Zubair and Saad followers. BGB Public Relations Officer Md. Shariful Islam gave this information on Wednesday (December 18) morning.

Two people were killed and over a hundred injured in clashes between Zobayers and Sadists over the occupation of the Bishwa Ijtema ground in Tongi around 3am on Tuesday (December 17).
