Security guard killed after losing control of motorcycle on Hanif Flyover
Kabir Hossain, 32, a security guard, has been killed after losing control of a motorcycle and hitting an island on Hanif Flyover in Jatrabari of the capital. Sumon Mia, 24, was also injured in the incident.
The accident occurred around 12:15am on Thursday (September 17).
Kabir Hossain was working as a security guard at Sonali Bank. He used to live in Gopibagh area of Motijheel. Injured Sumon Mia is the son of Hamidul Islam of Madhyapara village under Saghatta police station in Gaibandha.
Pawan Chandra Das, roommate of the deceased Kabir Hossain, said the motorcycle carrying them lost control on Hanif Flyover at night and hit an island. As a result, Kabir and Sumon were seriously injured.
Later they were rescued and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital around 1am. From there they were sent to Pangu Hospital. Later they were brought back to DMCH Hospital where Kabir Hossain died around 9am while under treatment.
Md Habibur Rahman, officer-in-charge of DMCH Hospital police outpost, said the body has been kept in the morgue of the hospital’s emergency department for autopsy. The matter has been informed to the concerned police station.
