Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has assured the public that the overall security situation in the country is stable ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

Speaking to reporters after inspecting the Gabtoli sacrificial animal market on Thursday (June 5), the Jahangir Alam said, “As the head of the security forces, I can say that the security situation is good.”

He called for public cooperation to help maintain law and order during the busy Eid season.

When asked by journalists whether there were any shortcomings in the security arrangements, he responded by asking, “Did you see any security deficiencies?” indicating confidence in the current preparations.

Commenting on the market situation, the adviser noted that livestock prices this year are relatively reasonable. “Compared to last year, I think the prices are a bit lower,” he said.

In response to questions about why many people seemed reluctant to purchase large cattle, the advisor offered a candid explanation: “Previously, people had pockets full of corruption money. Now that flow has stopped. Those who used to buy big cattle with black money are no longer able to do so.”
