The interim government has tightened security at all religious establishments in the capital. It also stated that the law will be strictly enforced against any attempt to disrupt religious harmony. The information was revealed in a statement issued by the interim government on Monday, November 10, following recent cocktail explosions in various parts of Dhaka.

Meanwhile, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with the recent blasts.

Preliminary investigation has identified him as a member of the banned student organisation Chhatra League. In a statement posted on the verified Facebook page of the Chief Adviser, the Press Wing said the suspect is being questioned about multiple incidents, including the explosions near St Mary’s Cathedral and St Joseph’s School in Kakrail.

The Press Wing further said that the DMP, in coordination with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), has intensified operations across the city to arrest everyone involved in this heinous violence.

The statement added that security has been tightened at all churches and religious establishments of all faiths in the capital.

The interim government reaffirmed its firm commitment to interfaith harmony and communal peace, warning that the law will be strictly enforced against any attempt to disturb religious coexistence. Four separate cocktail explosions occurred in four areas of Dhaka on Monday morning, though no casualties were reported.
