'serial killer' Samrat dies

Savar's notorious serial killer Mashiur Rahman Khan Samrat alias 'Psycho Samrat' alias Sabuj Sheikh has died. He died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital while undergoing treatment on Monday morning (March 23).


Savar Model Police Station Police Inspector (Operations) Md. Helal Uddin confirmed the matter. Dhaka Central Jail Senior Jail Superintendent Faruk Ahmed said that he was rushed to the hospital after he suddenly felt chest pain in the morning. He died there at around 7:30am while undergoing treatment.


Earlier this year, a series of murders in the abandoned building of the Municipal Community Center in the Thana Road area of ​​Savar spread panic in the public mind. Later, the police arrested him through surveillance. Although known as 'Psycho Samrat', his real name is Sabuj Sheikh. His home is in Louhajang Upazila of Munshiganj district.


According to police, he got involved in the world of crime with his first murder in 2014. Later, after being released on bail, he continued to commit murders one after another under the guise of a vagrant. Seven murder and two drug cases were pending against him.


Investigation revealed that he was involved in brutal incidents such as strangling men and women and burning their bodies at different times. He also confessed to some of these murders.
