Severed limbs recovered near Baitul Mukarram, victim idenfied
Police have recovered two severed hands near the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque and a severed leg from in front of the Scout Building.
Law enforcers confirmed the identity of the victim as Obaidullah, a resident of Shibpur upazila in Narsingdi, through fingerprint analysis.
According to police sources, the severed leg was recovered around 2:00am on Friday, while the two hands were found Saturday morning between the mosque’s south and north gates.
Mostafa Kamal Khan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Paltan Police Station, said, "The body parts were sent to the morgue at Dhaka Medical College Hospital for a special autopsy. Police are continuing efforts to recover the remaining body parts and determine the motive behind the killing."
"An investigation is underway into this matter," he added.
