Shafiqur gets 'Daripalla', 'Dhaner Shish' for Shafikul in Dhaka-15

In Dhaka-13 constituency, BNP candidate Bobby Hajjaj has been allocated the paddy sheaf (Dhaner Shish) symbol. In the same constituency, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis candidate Maulana Mohammad Mamunul Haque has received the Rickshaw symbol. The symbols were allocated on Wednesday, January 21, at the Election Training Institute building in Agargaon, Dhaka, under the supervision of the returning officer for Dhaka-15 and Dhaka-13, Mohammad Yunus Ali.

The symbol on behalf of BNP-nominated candidate Bobby Hajjaj was received by his chief election aide, Kazi Mohammad Yusuf. The symbol on behalf of Mohammad Mamunul Haque was received by his younger brother, Mashrurul Haque.

In Dhaka-15 constituency, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman received the balance scale (Daripalla) symbol, while BNP candidate Shafikul Islam Khan was allocated the Sheaf of Paddy. Symbols were also allocated to Ganoforum candidate A K M Shafikul Islam, Janta Party candidate Khan Shoaib Aman Ullah, Bangladesh National Socialist Party Jasod candidate Mohammad Ashfaqul Rahman, and Jatiya Party candidate Mohammad Shamsul Haque. The Scale symbol on behalf of Shafiqur Rahman was received by Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Media, Ehsan Mahbub.

According to the revised election schedule, returning officers published the final list of candidates and allocated symbols today, January 21. Election campaigning will begin on January 22 and continue until 7.30 am on February 10. Voting will be held on Thursday, February 12, from 7.30 am to 4.30 pm.
