Shapla Koli symbol implies NCP as children’s party: Samanta Sharmin
The National Citizen Party (NCP) Joint Convener Samanta Sharmin expressed anger over the Election Commission’s decision to include ‘Shapla Koli’ in its symbol list, saying it implied their party was “childish.”
Speaking at a seminar titled “Implementation of July Charter and the Path of National Election” in Dhaka on Thursday (October 30), she said, “By assigning Shapla Koli instead of Shapla, the EC has shown bias and disrespect. It signals that we are still immature, as major parties portray us.”
Sharmin termed the move discriminatory and politically motivated, demanding that the EC allow the Shapla symbol.
Jatiya Jubo Shokti Convener Advocate Md. Tarikul Islam, Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary, and other leaders also spoke at the event.
