Sharp blade found inside government-supplied tiffin bread at Barishal primary school

A sharp blade was discovered inside the government-supplied tiffin bread at a primary school in Gouranadi Pourashava, Barishal. However, no physical harm occurred as a student spotted the blade before eating the bread.

The incident took place at Harisena Government Primary School in the pourashava on Wednesday. According to school sources, a first-grade female student noticed the blade inside the bread while tearing it during tiffin time. The matter was immediately reported to acting head teacher Saifun Nahar.

Acting head teacher Saifun Nahar confirmed the incident and said it was reported to the primary education officer Md. Nurul Islam Mridha.

Attempts were made to contact Arif Hossain, representative of the tiffin supplier Island Trading Corporation, but his mobile number was switched off and no statement could be obtained.

Gouranadi Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Poura Administrator Md. Ibrahim said over mobile phone that the school was inspected on Thursday morning. An investigation will be conducted and necessary action will be taken.
