Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today congratulated BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman on leading his party to a decisive victory in Bangladesh’s parliamentary election. “I convey my warm congratulations to Tarique Rahman on leading BNP to a decisive victory in the Parliamentary elections in Bangladesh,” he wrote on his verified X account, reports local media. “This victory shows the trust of the people of Bangladesh in your leadership,” he added. Earlier, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman on his party’s victory in the parliamentary elections.

ত্রয়োদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনে বিপুল আসনে বিজয়ী হয়ে সরকার গঠন করতে যাচ্ছে বাংলাদেশ জাতীয়তাবাদী দল (বিএনপি)। বেসরকারি ফলাফল অনুযায়ী, বিএনপির নেতৃত্বাধীন জোট দুই-তৃতীয়াংশ সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠতা অর্জন করেছে। দলটির এই ঐতিহাসিক বিজয়ে বিশ্বনেতাদের পক্ষ থেকে অভিনন্দন বার্তা আসতে শুরু করেছে। ভারতের পর এবার অভিনন্দন জানিয়েছেন পাকিস্তানও। এক অভিনন্দন বার্তায় সংসদীয় নির্বাচনে নিরঙ্কুশ বিজয়ে বিএনপিকে নেতৃত্ব দেওয়ায় তারেক রহমানকে আন্তরিক শুভেচ্ছা জানান পাকিস্তানের প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেহবাজ শরীফ। একই সঙ্গে সফলভাবে নির্বাচন সম্পন্ন করায় বাংলাদেশের জনগণকেও অভিনন্দন জানান তিনি। পাকিস্তানের প্রধানমন্ত্রী আশা প্রকাশ করেন, বাংলাদেশের নতুন নেতৃত্বের সঙ্গে ঘনিষ্ঠভাবে কাজ করার মাধ্যমে দুই দেশের ঐতিহাসিক, ভ্রাতৃত্বপূর্ণ ও বহুমাত্রিক দ্বিপাক্ষিক সম্পর্ক আরও জোরদার করা সম্ভব হবে। তিনি আরও বলেন, দক্ষিণ এশিয়া ও এর বাইরেও শান্তি, স্থিতিশীলতা ও উন্নয়নের অভিন্ন লক্ষ্য অর্জনে একসঙ্গে কাজ করবে উভয় দেশ।
