Sheikh Hasina Park renamed as Saifur Rahman Park

The 'Jananetri Sheikh Hasina Shishu Park', located on the banks of the Surma River in Sylhet city, has been renamed 'M Saifur Rahman Shishu Park'.

A notification signed by Mahbuba Airin, deputy secretary of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, revealed this information on Thursday (March 20).

The notification stated, the new name of the 'Jananetri Sheikh Hasina Shishu Park' under the jurisdiction of Sylhet City Corporation has been approved as 'M Saifur Rahman Shishu Park'.

On October 22, 2021, the 'Jananetri Sheikh Hasina Shishu Park' was inaugurated on 3.77 acres of land by the Surma River in the South Surma area of Sylhet city, built at a cost of Tk 26.88 crore.
