Shilpakala Academy DG Jamil Ahmed announces resignation

Syed Jamil Ahmed has announced his resignation from the post of Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

He suddenly announced this decision while speaking at a program at Shilpakala Academy on Friday (February 28) evening.

Jamil Ahmed was present as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the 'Munir Chowdhury's First National Drama Festival' organized by the Training Department of Shilpakala Academy.

He handed over his resignation to Shilpakala Academy Secretary Mohammad Wares Hossain, who was on the stage of the program.

However, the Secretary of Shilpakala Academy does not have the authority to accept this resignation letter. The responsibility of accepting the matter lies with the Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.

Meanwhile, regarding the acceptance of the resignation letter, Shilpakala Academy Secretary Mohammad Wares Hossain came to the stage and said, "As the Secretary of Shilpakala, I have only taken it in my hand, but no official or employee of Shilpakala Academy has officially accepted it."
