Ship carrying 12,700 tonnes rice arrives from Vietnam
A ship named MV MD SEA carrying 12,700 metric tonnes of Atap rice under the G-to-G agreement (Package-1) from Vietnam has arrived at Chattogram port.
The information was disclosed in a notice signed by Imdadul Islam, Senior Information Officer and Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Food, on Monday (April 7).
Under the G-to-G agreement, a total of 100,000 metric tonnes of Atap rice will be imported from Vietnam. As per the contract, 60,000 metric tonnes of rice have already arrived in the country.
The rice samples from the ship have already been tested, and the unloading process will begin shortly.
