The incident took place in front of Azampur Nawab Habibullah High School in Sector 4 under Uttara Purbo Police Station. Ishtiaq filed a case of attempted murder with Uttara Purba Police Station on September 29.

126 people, including former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, were accused in the case. Shomi Kaiser is the 24th accused in the case.

In connection with this case, the police arrested Shomi Kaiser from house number 53 on Road number 6 in Sector 4 of Uttara in the capital on the night of November 5.
