Singers Konokchapa, Baby Naznin seek BNP nomination for reserved seats
Two popular playback singers, Konokchapa and Baby Naznin, have collected nomination forms from BNP for the reserved women's seats in the 13th National Parliament.
They collected the nomination forms from the BNP central office in Naya Paltan, capital, on Saturday, April 11.
According to party sources, Konokchapa has picked up nomination papers for the Sirajganj-1 (Kazipur) constituency. Meanwhile, Baby Naznin has collected nomination forms for the Nilphamari-4 (Syedpur and Kishoreganj) constituency. She said she will submit the forms tomorrow, April 12.
In her reaction, Konokchapa said she is optimistic about receiving the nomination based on her long-standing association with and dedication to the party.
Baby Naznin said she wants to become a member of parliament to honour her four decades of political allegiance and to help groom the new generation as capable individuals. She said she has been working for a long time believing in the party's ideology.
Additionally, it has been reported that playback singer Rizia Parveen has also collected nomination forms for a reserved women's seat.
