Six more die from dengue

Six more people have died of dengue between 8 am Saturday and 8 am Sunday. During the same period, 1,195 patients were admitted to hospitals.

According to a press release issued on Sunday, November 9, by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services, among the newly admitted patients, 155 are from Barishal division, 132 from Chattogram, 278 from Dhaka division outside the city corporation areas, 220 from Dhaka North City, 115 from Dhaka South City, 114 from Khulna division outside the city corporation areas, 59 from Mymensingh division, 113 from Rajshahi division outside the city corporation areas, and 9 from Rajshahi city.

A total of 1,108 patients were discharged from hospitals in a single day. So far this year, 74,893 dengue patients have recovered and returned home after treatment.

From January 2025 until now, a total of 78,543 dengue patients have been hospitalised, and 313 have died.

In comparison, 111,214 dengue patients were hospitalised and 575 died in 2024. In 2023, a total of 321,179 people were hospitalised, and 1,705 died within the year.
