Six more die of dengue, 953 hospitalised
A total of 953 people were hospitalised with dengue between 8am Saturday and 8am Sunday, while six people died during this period. With these deaths, the number of dengue fatalities this year has risen to 230.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed the information in a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operations Centre and Control Room on Sunday, October 12.
According to DGHS, in the past 24 hours, 953 people were admitted to hospitals across the country, including Dhaka. Among them, 141 were from Barishal Division, 107 from Chattogram Division, 197 from Dhaka Division, 147 from Dhaka North City, 122 from Dhaka South City, 93 from Khulna Division, 46 from Mymensingh Division, 69 from Rajshahi Division, 23 from Rangpur Division, and 8 from Sylhet Division.
Since January this year, a total of 54,559 dengue patients have been hospitalised across the country.
Meanwhile, 854 patients were discharged from hospitals nationwide in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of discharged patients this year to 51,783.
