Social Welfare Ministry mourns death of Dr. Zahid's mother

The Ministry of Social Welfare has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Begum Jebunnesa, mother of Social Welfare and Women and Child Affairs Minister Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain.

She passed away while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun) at 5:38am on Wednesday (May 6). She was 83 years old at the time of her death.

The condolence message stated that Begum Jebunnesa was born in 1944 in a respectable Muslim family in Gafargaon Upazila of Mymensingh. During her career, she was engaged in the teaching profession and was known as a loving and respected personality in the society.

At the time of her death, she is survived by two sons, two daughters, numerous relatives, appreciative students and numerous well-wishers.

The Ministry of Social Welfare prayed for the forgiveness of the departed soul and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family.
