From July 1 onward, teachers and staff employed at MPO-listed private schools, colleges, madrasas, and technical institutions will receive special financial benefits based on their basic salary.

The Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance issued a directive regarding this on Monday (June 23).

According to the directive, teachers and staff at grade 9 and above, comparable to the national pay scale, will receive a special benefit amounting to 10% of their basic salary every year on July 1. Those in grade 10 and below will receive 15%, with a minimum amount of Tk1,500.

This decision is expected to provide some financial relief to MPO-listed teachers and staff.

Earlier, in a press conference held at the Secretariat on Sunday, Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed said, “Under the special benefits announced for government employees, the minimum amount is set at Tk1,500 for current employees and Tk750 for pensioners.”

Along with government employees, separate orders have been approved and recommended for armed forces personnel, the judiciary, and MPO-listed teachers and staff.
