SSC, equivalent exams start

The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations have started today (February 15) across the country.

Since the advent of the Corona pandemic, this year the examinations are being held as per the full syllabus for the first time.

Some 20,24,192 students from 29,735 educational institutions under 11 educational boards across the country are participating in the SSC and its equivalent examinations this year.

According to the education ministry, the examinations started at 10:00am with Bangla (compulsory) first paper and Easy Bangla first paper subjects under the nine general boards, Quran Majid and Tazvid subject under the madrasa board and Bangla (2) subject under the technical board at 3,700 centres across the country. The examinations will continue till 1:00pm.

Mobile phones and electronic devices of any kind cannot be used inside the examination centres and only the examination secretary is allowed to use a normal phone set without internet connection.

Meanwhile, the traffic department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has formed a 'quick response team' to deal with any problem of students taking part in SSC and Dakhil examinations.

The examinees with disabilities will be allowed to have an assistant each and extra 30 minutes to finish exams.

All coaching centres across Bangladesh will remain closed from February 13 till March 12 in order to check any question leak during the examinations, according to education ministry sources.
