The results of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations were published on Thursday. A total of 1,928,970 students from 30,088 educational institutions took part in the exams. However, not a single student passed from 134 institutions—significantly higher than last year. In 2024, 51 schools had a 100% fail rate, but this year the number has increased by 83.

The results were jointly announced by all secondary and higher secondary education boards in the country—Dhaka, Rajshahi, Cumilla, Jashore, Chattogram, Barishal, Sylhet, Dinajpur, and Mymensingh—as well as the Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board and the Bangladesh Technical Education Board. This time, results were published without any formal event.

This year, the results were prepared using a new method called “realistic evaluation,” which officials believe provided a more accurate reflection of students’ actual abilities.

Notably, the 2025 SSC and equivalent exams were held from April 10 to May 13. A total of 1,928,970 students—including both regular and irregular candidates—appeared for the exams, which is around 100,000 fewer than the previous year.
