The results of the 2025 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations were announced on Thursday, revealing a notable trend: girls have outperformed boys once again.

The overall pass rate this year stood at 68.45 percent, a decline from last year’s 83.04 percent. However, the pass rate for girls was 71.03 percent, surpassing the boys’ pass rate of 65.88 percent by a clear margin.

Across all education boards, 3.79 percent more girls passed compared to their male counterparts. Additionally, 8,200 more girls achieved the highest GPA-5.

The results were released simultaneously at noon by the Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Boards of Dhaka, Rajshahi, Cumilla, Jashore, Chattogram, Barishal, Sylhet, Dinajpur, and Mymensingh, along with the Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board and the Bangladesh Technical Education Board.

This year’s data reinforces the consistent academic strength demonstrated by female students across the country.
