SSF deployed for Khaleda Zia’s security
The Special Security Force (SSF) began providing protection to BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia on Tuesday, after she was declared a “Very Very Important Person” (VVIP).
SSF personnel started their duties at 2:20 pm, confirmed BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan.
Around 2pm, SSF vehicles were seen entering Evercare Hospital in the capital.
Earlier, at a press briefing at 12:30 pm, Khaleda Zia’s personal physician AZM Zahid Hossain said she was able to receive treatment, or more precisely, maintain her treatment regimen. He also said a specialist team from the United Kingdom would arrive on Tuesday to join her medical care.
The former prime minister has been undergoing treatment at the hospital for 10 days. Following a sudden deterioration in her health, she was moved to the ICU for intensive care.
