State Minister for Land Barrister Kayser Kamal on Wednesday morning (March 4) conducted a surprise inspection of the Siddhirganj Union Land Office in Narayanganj and found no officials present.

Arriving at the office at 9:10am, he found no officials or staff were present at the time, prompting his criticism of the lack of punctuality and accountability.

After waiting approximately 30 minutes, an individual arrived to unlock the office, allowing the minister to enter. However, even then, no officials were present.

Addressing the media, the minister said, “This is a randomly selected office. We are here to monitor the staff, review documents, check service standards, and identify pending matters.”

He added, “It is now 9:10am and no one has reported for duty, even though the office was supposed to open at 9:00am. This is completely unacceptable.”

Reiterating his anti-corruption stance, Barrister Kamal emphasised that official procedures and regulations will be strictly enforced, and any necessary measures will be taken in accordance with the law.

He also stated that such surprise inspections will continue nationwide to ensure citizens receive timely services.

The minister is currently stationed at the Narayanganj land office as part of the ongoing inspection.
