Stephen Rodriques presents credentials to foreign minister

Stephen Rodriques, the newly appointed UNDP Resident Representative in Bangladesh, has presented his credentials to Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman.

He formally presented his credentials at a courtesy meeting held at the Foreign Minister's office in the Secretariat on Thursday (August 6).

During the meeting, the foreign minister welcomed Stephen Rodriques and praised UNDP's long-standing support for Bangladesh's development.

He said Bangladesh is committed to working closely with UNDP to carry out shared development goals.

Dr. Khalilur Rahman also said UNDP has played an important role in helping Bangladesh reach the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He said Bangladesh will face new challenges as it moves out of the Least Developed Country (LDC) list, and he hopes UNDP and the UN system will keep supporting the country through this process.

Thanking the foreign minister for the warm welcome, Stephen Rodriques repeated his commitment to strengthening development cooperation with the Bangladesh government. He also praised Bangladesh's strong social and economic progress and its leadership on sustainable development.
