The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted that a storm may blow over 10 regions of the country including Dhaka at a maximum speed of 60km. According to a BMD bulletin on Tuesday (July 30), there may be temporary gusty winds with rain or thunder blowing from the South or South-East direction over Jashore, Khulna, Dhaka, Faridpur, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram and Cox's Bazar regions. River ports of these regions have been asked to hoist No. 1 cautionary signal. Temporary gusty winds or hailstorm may occur on Tuesday in most of the places in Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet and at some places in Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh. At the same time, heavy downpour may occur in some regions of the country. The temperature may reduce slightly during the day and night.

ঢাকাসহ দেশের ১০টি অঞ্চলের ওপর দিয়ে সর্বোচ্চ ৬০ কিমি বেগে ঝড় বয়ে যেতে পারে বলে আভাস দিয়েছে আবহাওয়া অধিদপ্তর। আজ মঙ্গলবার (৩০ জুলাই) দুপুর ১টা পর্যন্ত দেশের অভ্যন্তরীণ নদীবন্দরের জন্য আবহাওয়ার পূর্বাভাসে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়েছে। এতে বলা হয়েছে, যশোর, খুলনা, ঢাকা, ফরিদপুর, বরিশাল, পটুয়াখালী, নোয়াখালী, কুমিল্লা, চট্টগ্রাম ও কক্সবাজার অঞ্চলের ওপর দিয়ে দক্ষিণ দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব দিক থেকে ঘণ্টায় ৪৫-৬০ কিমি বেগে অস্থায়ীভাবে দমকা বা ঝোড়ো হাওয়াসহ বৃষ্টি বা বজ্রসহ বৃষ্টি হতে পারে। এসব এলাকার নদীবন্দরকে ১ নম্বর সতর্ক সংকেত দেখাতে বলা হয়েছে। এদিকে সোমবার রাতে দেওয়া আবহাওয়ার সবশেষ পূর্বাভাসে বলা হয়, মঙ্গলবার রংপুর, খুলনা, বরিশাল, চট্টগ্রাম ও সিলেট বিভাগের অধিকাংশ জায়গায় এবং রাজশাহী, ঢাকা ও ময়মনসিংহ বিভাগের অনেক জায়গায় অস্থায়ীভাবে দমকা হাওয়াসহ হালকা থেকে মাঝারি ধরনের বৃষ্টি বা বজ্রসহ বৃষ্টি হতে পারে। সেই সঙ্গে দেশের কোথাও কোথাও মাঝারি ধরনের ভারী থেকে অতি ভারী বর্ষণ হতে পারে। এছাড়া, সারাদেশে দিন ও রাতের তাপমাত্রা সামান্য হ্রাস পেতে পারে বলেও জানানো হয়।
