Storm, rain likely in 8 regions including Dhaka by evening

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds in eight districts, including Dhaka, by this evening.

According to the weather office, the storms may bring wind speeds of up to 60 kilometres per hour.

The warning was issued in the inland river ports forecast valid from 9am to 6pm on Tuesday. River ports in the affected regions have been advised to display cautionary signal No. 1.

The forecast said temporary rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty or squally winds blowing from the west or northwest at speeds of 45 to 60 kmph may affect the regions of Dhaka, Faridpur, Barishal, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet.
