The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has warned that storms with wind speeds of up to 60 km/h may occur in three regions of the country. River ports in the affected areas have been advised to display cautionary signals. The forecast provided this information, issued for inland river ports from 5am to 1pm on Friday. According to the bulletin, the regions of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet may experience temporary rain or thunderstorms accompanied by gusty or squally winds blowing from the west or northwest at speeds of 45 to 60 km/h. River ports in these areas have been instructed to hoist warning signal number 1.

দেশের তিন বিভাগে ঘণ্টায় সর্বোচ্চ ৬০ কিলোমিটার বেগে ঝড়ের পূর্বাভাস দিয়েছে আবহাওয়া অধিদপ্তর। এসব এলাকার নদীবন্দরগুলোকে ১ নম্বর সতর্কতা সংকেত দেখাতে বলা হয়েছে। শুক্রবার (২৪ এপ্রিল) ভোর ৫টা থেকে দুপুর ১টা পর্যন্ত দেশের অভ্যন্তরীণ নদীবন্দরগুলোর জন্য দেওয়া এক পূর্বাভাসে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়েছে। আবহাওয়া অফিসের বুলেটিনে বলা হয়েছে, রংপুর, ময়মনসিংহ এবং সিলেট অঞ্চলের ওপর দিয়ে পশ্চিম অথবা উত্তর-পশ্চিম দিক থেকে ঘণ্টায় ৪৫ থেকে ৬০ কিলোমিটার বেগে অস্থায়ীভাবে দমকা অথবা ঝোড়ো হাওয়া বয়ে যেতে পারে। সেই সঙ্গে এসব এলাকায় বৃষ্টি অথবা বজ্রসহ বৃষ্টি হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে। ঝড়ের আশঙ্কায় এসব অঞ্চলের নদীবন্দরগুলোকে ১ নম্বর সতর্কসংকেত (সতর্কতা সংকেত নম্বর ১) দেখাতে বলা হয়েছে। তবে দেশের অন্যান্য অঞ্চলের আবহাওয়ায় বড় ধরনের কোনো পরিবর্তনের আভাস দেওয়া হয়নি।
