Storms, rain likely in three districts by noon
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast temporary gusty winds accompanied by rain or thunderstorms in three districts by noon on Sunday (September 13), with wind speeds reaching 45–60 kilometres per hour.
The department said the conditions could affect Rangpur, Dinajpur and Faridpur regions between 5am and 1pm, with winds blowing from the south or southeast.
River ports in the affected areas have been advised to hoist Warning Signal No. 1.
For Dhaka and adjoining areas, the six-hour forecast from 7am said the sky may remain partly cloudy to cloudy, with rain or thundershowers likely. Southerly or southeasterly winds may blow at 10–15 kmph.
Daytime temperatures in Dhaka may fall slightly. The capital recorded 27.7°C at 6am on Sunday, with relative humidity at 92%. Saturday’s highest temperature in Dhaka was 33°C, while today’s minimum was 27.4°C.
Sunset in Dhaka is expected at 6:05pm and sunrise on Monday at 5:44am. The capital received only trace rainfall in the previous 24 hours.
