Four seaports in the country have been asked to display local warning signal No-3 due to the formation of deep convective clouds over the North Bay of Bengal.

Fishing boats and trawlers have been asked to approach the coast cautiously until further notice, says a Meteorological Department press release sent to media on Wednesday (June 19).

According to the release, deep convective clouds have formed over North Bay of Bengal under the influence of active monsoon. As a result, gusty winds may blow over North Bay of Bengal, coastal areas of Bangladesh and seaports. Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra seaports have been asked to display local warning signal number-3.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is continuing in Patuakhali since the morning. Khepupara Meteorological Office has recorded 69mm rainfall in Kalapara upazila of the district from 9am to 3pm. The air pressure has increased a lot.

Officer-in-Charge of Patuakhali District Meteorological Office Mahbuba Sukhi said the rainfall may continue for the next 72 hours. Along with that, gusty winds may blow in the coastal areas.
