Noting that there have been about 2,000 movements in the last 16 months, all of which have been controlled peacefully, Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said that  the government has shown enough patience. Strict action will be taken if people take to the streets with demands after the schedule is announced.

The Chief Adviser's Press Secretary gave this information at a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy after the Advisory Council meeting on Thursday.

He said: "The elections will be held peacefully, the government will not go towards any new laws surrounding the elections."

The election will be held under this Advisory Council, the Press Secretary said.

The Press Secretary said that the government has decided to reduce the tax on dates by 15 percent in view of Ramadan. At the same time, the tax imposed on the metro rail has been withdrawn.

A total of three laws, including the Commercial Court Ordinance and the Legal Aid Provision Second Amendment Ordinance, were approved in the cabinet meeting today, said Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam. In addition, he said the government is also considering a new law to control online and AI-based fraud.

At that time, it was decided to give Tk2million to the 36 people who died in the Milestone tragedy and Tk5 lakh to the injured.
