Strict security at National Burn Institute following Air Force jet crash
In the wake of the Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crash in Uttara, security has been heightened at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. Law enforcement and military personnel have restricted access to the facility, allowing only patients, their immediate relatives, and authorized staff to enter.
Even journalists are being denied access without prior military approval.
On Tuesday morning, tight security measures were visible at the institute’s main gate, where both Ansar and army personnel were stationed. Entry is being strictly regulated to manage the growing crowd of victims and concerned visitors.
All staff must show valid identification, while patients' relatives are required to provide the patient's name, their relationship, and ward details. Access is only granted once identities are verified.
An on-duty Ansar officer stated that the restrictions aim to prevent overcrowding and ensure smooth hospital operations, with the military maintaining close oversight.
