Student movement: Legal help in false cases on 16430
During the anti-discrimination student movement from July 1 to August 5, if any person has been a victim of false and harassing criminal cases, he/she can get legal help through the National Legal Aid Organization's Legal Aid Helpline call center number 16430 (toll free).
National Legal Aid Organization under the Law and Justice Department of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs issued a notice in this regard.
The notice, signed by the agency's Assistant Director (Monitoring) Farin Farazana, said that if any person has been a victim of false and harassing criminal cases filed between July 1 and August 5, he/she should contact the National Legal Aid Agency's Legal Aid Helpline call center at 16430 (toll free). It is decided that victim support or legal assistance will be given through.
Another notification signed by the same official said that on August 10, a meeting was held with the adviser of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and the officials of the Law and Justice Department. Five important decisions were taken in that meeting.
In the light of that decision, it was decided to provide legal assistance to the victim in the false and harassing criminal cases filed from July 1 to August 5. People concerned are requested to take necessary action in this regard.
It should be noted that the National Legal Aid Organization under the Law and Justice Department of the Ministry of Law launched the National Helpline 16430 (Toll Free) number on April 28, 2016 to provide free legal assistance to poor and distressed people.
