Students are blocking roads and protesting in the capital's Khamarbari area, demanding the removal of secretaries and officials from the previous Awami League government administration, which was ousted by a student-public uprising.

On Sunday (March 16) afternoon, this protest began. Students from Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) and various other educational institutions, who are part of the anti-fascism movement, participated in the demonstration.

Members of the security forces, including the army and police, are present at the scene to bring the situation under control.

SAU's student Rahat Hossain said, 'During the autocratic Sheikh Hasina's regime, the officials used to work for fascist Hasina sitting in the farmhouse. They are still performing their duties with full force, which is not beneficial for our country.'

He further said, 'They are trying to make our agricultural sector ineffective. Not only the agricultural sector, but we will not leave the streets until the officials who have taken special privileges during Hasina's regime in all sectors are removed.'

The students allege that the officials, particularly the secretaries, have always played a crucial role in running Sheikh Hasina's government. Specifically, she consistently appointed trusted secretaries and officials to key ministries and departments. However, those same officials are still in their positions and continue to perform their duties.
