Students to receive textbooks in January: Finance Adviser

Students are set to receive their textbooks in January, Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed announced on Sunday.

He added that the list of printing firms will be finalised within the month.

Speaking to reporters after a procurement committee meeting at the Secretariat, Dr. Ahmed said last year’s book printing faced allegations of irregularities. “Those previously implicated will not be assigned contracts this year,” he noted.

Dr. Ahmed also confirmed that vaccine procurement has been approved. Negotiations with UNICEF are ongoing to reduce commissions, and vaccines for the next three months will be procured through competitive bidding.
