Stuntman dies on set of Shakib Khan’s 'Tandob'
Monir Hossain, a veteran stuntman, died after falling ill during the filming of Tandob, an upcoming movie starring Shakib Khan, currently being shot in Rajshahi.
Director Raihan Rafi confirmed the death, saying Monir was declared dead at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital on Saturday afternoon (May 3).
“He performed a stunt around noon and appeared fine afterward, chatting with the crew. But within a couple of hours, he suddenly fell ill. When we took him to the hospital, doctors informed us he had passed away,” Rafi said.
The shoot was taking place at a set constructed in Rajshahi’s Hi-Tech Park area. Crew members said Monir showed no immediate signs of distress.
Rafi added, “It’s possible he suffered a stroke earlier in the day but didn’t tell anyone. He showed no visible symptoms.”
A resident of Narayanganj, Monir had worked as a stuntman in the film industry for several years.
Tandob is slated for release during Eid-ul-Azha and marks the silver screen debut of popular TV actress Sabila Noor, who stars opposite Shakib Khan.
