Suchitra Sen Girl's Hostel now ‘July 36 Girl's Hostel’

‘Suchitra Sen Girl's Hostel’ of Pabna Government Edward College has been renamed to ‘July 36 Girl's Hostel’.

Professor Abdul Awal Mia, principal of the college, unveiled a new nameplate on the college premises on Tuesday.

Two more residential halls of the college were also renamed on the same day. ‘Sheikh Russell Dormitory’ has been renamed as ‘Bijoy 24 Dormitory’ and ‘Begum Fazilatunnesa Dormitory’ has been renamed as ‘Ayesha Siddika (R.A.) Dormitory’.

The college’s vice-principal, Professor Md Abdul Khalek, was present at the unveiling ceremony of the new nameplate. Secretary of the Teachers' Council Professor Lutfar Rahman, Joint Secretary Rafiqul Islam, heads of various departments, hall super, assistant super and representatives of the student organization were also present.

The college authorities said that the decision to change the name has been taken in view of the demands of the students and with the aim of increasing historical awareness.
