Sudden rain brings relief to Dhaka residents
The capital Dhaka has witnessed a change in weather at the end of the month of Falgun.
Clouds had been gathering in the sky since Monday morning, March 2, with little sign of the sun. Rain began after noon, approaching evening. Shortly after 3:30 pm, rain suddenly poured down, accompanied by gusty winds. A touch of relief has arrived in the dry, dusty capital Dhaka. This arrival of rain has invigorated nature.
The weather forecast had predicted that between 1 pm and the following six hours, rain or thundershowers with winds blowing 10-15 km per hour from the west and north-west could occur. Additionally, the forecast for the 24 hours from 9 am stated that an extension of a low-pressure area lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas. The seasonal low-pressure system is over the south Bay of Bengal, with its extension reaching up to the north-east Bay of Bengal.
Under its influence, rain or thundershowers may occur in one or two places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions. Elsewhere in the country, weather will remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies.
According to the weather department's forecast, rain or thundershowers may continue in four divisions of the country tomorrow, Tuesday. Other regions will experience mainly dry weather with temporarily partly cloudy skies.
