A recent nationwide survey conducted by the South Asian Network on Economic Modeling (SANEM) shows that Bangladeshi youths believe the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will win the upcoming 13th national election by securing 38.76% of the votes.

The survey, published on Monday (7 July), reflects a changing political trend among young voters. It predicts that Jamaat-e-Islami will receive 21.45% of votes, while the National Citizen Party (NCP)—which emerged after last year’s uprising that led to the fall of the Awami League government—could get 15.84%.

Interestingly, respondents said the ousted Awami League would still gather 15.02% of votes if allowed to participate.

Other Islamist parties are expected to get 4.59% of the vote, and the Jatiyo Party 3.77%, the survey titled “Youth in Transition: Navigating Jobs, Education, and Changing Political Scenario Post July Movement” showed.

Smaller parties combined may receive 0.57% of the votes.
