Suspicious objects at Rayerbazar intellectual graveyard, SRB at the scene

Special Response Battalion (SRB-2) has surrounded the scene after reports of some suspicious objects being found inside Rayerbazar intellectual graveyard in Mohammadpur of the capital.

Company commander of CPS of SRB-2 Hasan Muhtarin confirmed the matter on Monday (September 28) night.

He said information was received on the basis of secret news that some objects wrapped in polythene were lying at the base of a tree inside the graveyard. Later a team of SRB was sent there.

Hasan Muhtarin said it is primarily assumed that unknown persons or miscreants left these objects there. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether those are actually explosives or not.

The bomb disposal team of SRB has been informed to examine the matter. He said it will be confirmed whether these are explosives or not after the expert team reaches the scene and examines the objects.

Earlier on Monday afternoon reports were also received of recovery of some objects at the old trade fair ground behind Gonobhaban in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar of the capital. In that incident also members of SRB conducted operation, surrounded the area and informed the bomb disposal team.

Security has been tightened in the concerned areas after finding objects resembling explosives at two important places of the capital on the same day. However, nothing detailed has yet been informed from the law enforcement agencies about the nature of the objects found at Rayerbazar intellectual graveyard and who left them there.
