SUST students preparing 5000 packets of oral saline
The students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) are preparing 5,000 packets of oral to distribute among the flood affected people.
Earlier, about 1,000 packets of saline were sent to the flood-affected affected areas.
The initiative has been taken by the students of Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science department of the university, said Ahmed Sakibul Islam, a student of the department, on Saturday (August 31) morning.
He said as part of the relief programme, SUST students have distributed relief at Sadar Hospital, Sonagazi and Chhagalnaiya upazilas in Feni and Manoharganj upazila in Cumilla.
"The relief items include water purification tablets, Paracetamol, Ambrox, Emodis, Savlon cream, Saclo, saline prepared by the department, dates, biscuits, wraps, milk packets etc. These were distributed among about 300 families," he added.
CEP Alumni Association, CEP Fraternity and SUST Student Chapter of AICHE are working for the successful implementation of relief distribution activities. The teachers, former students and current students of the department are jointly managing the relief distribution works. The department has called upon all the capable people of the department to stand by the flood victims.
