Swechchhasebak League leader found dead in Ctg

Police have recovered the hanging body of Shamsed Hiru, a leader of Swechchhasebak League, in Patiya upazila of Chattogram. He was a member of the South District unit of Swechchhasebak League as well as a member of the Shovondondi Union Parishad.

The body was recovered on Friday morning (July 11) from a makeshift office (kachari room) adjacent to his house in Rashidabad village under the upazila. The deceased, Shamsed, was the son of local Md. Shukkur Member.

According to local sources, Shamsed had been living in the nearby kachari room instead of his house due to a case filed with Patiya Police Station. On Friday morning, his wife went to wake him up and found him hanging. Police were immediately informed and later recovered the body from the scene.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Patiya Police Station, Md. Moniruzzaman, said the body has been sent to the morgue of Chattogram Medical College Hospital for autopsy. The exact cause of death will be known after receiving the report. Legal steps are being taken following investigation, he added.
