The incident took place on Wednesday night (May 28) at Chhota Darogar Hat under Baroi Dhala Union No. 2 in Sitakunda Upazila.

The deceased was identified as Kalim Uddin, 38, who was serving as the secretary of the proposed committee for Ward No. 5 in Purba Lalanagar village under Baroi Dhala Union.

According to local sources, Kalim Uddin’s group had been involved in an ongoing dispute with a rival group over various business-related matters at the Chhota Darogar Hat market.
