Tareq Refat Ullah appointed acting MD of BRAC Bank
Selim RF Hussain, Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BRAC Bank PLC, has resigned. In response, the bank's Board of Directors has appointed Tareq Refat Ullah Khan—Additional Managing Director and Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking—as the Acting MD and CEO.
On Tuesday (May 27), Selim RF Hussain submitted his resignation letter to the Board of Directors, which has accepted it. The resignation letter has been sent to Bangladesh Bank for approval. This information was confirmed by the bank's Public Relations Department.
In light of the management change, the Board of Directors decided to assign Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, who was serving as Additional Managing Director and Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking, as the Acting MD and CEO.
Selim R. F. Hussain led BRAC Bank for nearly a decade. During his tenure, the bank made significant progress. The newly appointed Acting MD, Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, is a long-serving official of BRAC Bank and a seasoned professional in the field of corporate banking.
