Along-awaited compilation of essays on BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, Obisongbadito Tareque Rahman (The Uncontested Tarique Rahman), has finally been published over a decade after it was edited.

The book was compiled in 2013 by journalist-turned-diplomat Tarique Choyon, now press secretary at the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata.

He had collected essays from writers, thinkers, and politicians analysing Tarique Rahman’s political philosophy, but publication was delayed due to political and other constraints.

Choyon confirmed the release on his verified Facebook account, saying the essays highlight Tarique Rahman’s non-violent and development-focused political approach.

In his post, Chayan wrote that he had intended to unveil the book at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair in the presence of distinguished guests, but the plan did not materialise.

The book’s foreword was written by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

Choyon said an official launch and seminar will be held soon, bringing together the book’s contributors for discussion.

He is also the author of the widely discussed investigative article “Money Laundering” in the book Lunthito Vobisshot (Plundered Future), which examined allegations of capital flight from Bangladesh.
