Tarique Rahman applies for 'travel pass'
BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has applied to be issued a 'travel pass' to return home on December 25. For this, he has submitted an application to the Bangladesh High Commission in London.
A source from the UK confirmed the matter on Thursday (December 18) evening. The source said that Tarique Rahman's travel pass application has already been submitted to the Bangladesh High Commission.
Tarique Rahman, who is exiled in London for political reasons, has not received his Bangladeshi passport after its expiry. Although he had the opportunity to renew his passport after the Awami League government was overthrown in a uprising last year, he did not apply for it.
In the current situation, if he wants to return to the country as a Bangladeshi citizen, he will have to come to the country through a travel pass.
