Tarique Rahman en route to Dhaka from Sylhet

The aircraft carrying BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman departed Sylhet for Dhaka on Thursday (December 25).

The flight left Osmani International Airport at 11:04am and is scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 11:45am, according to the flight schedule.

Earlier in the day, the aircraft arrived in Sylhet at 9:55am after departing from London. Following a brief stopover, it resumed its journey to the capital.

The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, operating as Biman Bangladesh Airlines Flight BG-202, took off from London’s Heathrow Airport at 6:15pm (local time) on Wednesday. This marks Tarique Rahman’s return to Bangladesh after nearly 17 years. He is accompanied by his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, and daughter, barrister Zaima Rahman.

Meanwhile, preparations for a mass reception in Dhaka to mark Tarique Rahman’s homecoming have been completed. Large numbers of BNP leaders and activists began gathering at the venue from early morning.

The Kuril–Bishwa Road area, including the adjacent 300 Feet Road and surrounding areas, has seen heavy crowds as supporters converge to welcome him.
