Tarique Rahman invited by Chinese Communist Party to visit China
The Communist Party of China (CPC), the country’s ruling party, has extended an official invitation to BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman to visit China.
Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of BNP’s media cell, shared the information on Monday (June 23).
A recent bilateral meeting between the CPC and BNP took place at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. During the meeting, Li Hongzhong—CPC Politburo member and Deputy Chairman of the National People's Congress—welcomed the BNP delegation and formally invited Tarique Rahman to visit China.
The BNP delegation was led by the party’s Secretary General, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, along with several key members of the central executive committee.
Shairul Kabir Khan said, “CPC leaders expressed hope that this meeting will take the relationship between the two parties and the two countries to a new height.”
In addition, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir highlighted China’s role in regional politics as positive and said, “This initiative should be expanded at the multilateral level.”
